Straw Bags + Strawberries

Per usual, spring and summer fill our social media feeds with images of family vacations, fruity treats, icy cocktails, and all the trends that make you want to tap “add to cart” over and over… Thank the retail geniuses for store pick-up!

This week I am sharing my favorite strawberry recipes and top picks for this seasons must have bag trend- Straw!

I must say though, I wasn’t really into the straw bag trend at first, BUT it has totally grown on me and I am now in LOVE with it.

Below are my top picks from Amazon, FreePeople, Stella & Dot, Kate Spade, and Old Navy — & with prices starting at just $20, you can choose to try out the trend and not break the bank or splurge on a show stopper!


Now let’s talk strawberries!

Strawberries are not only delicious and in season, but are packed with vitamin C, fiber, antioxidants, and more.

This week my husband brought home a flat of strawberries from the farmer’s market. I couldn’t believe my eyes, what was I going to do with all these strawberries so they wouldn’t go to waste?

Strawberry Smoothies for the win!
My son loves these. They taste like milkshakes- WIN!

One basket of sliced strawberries, 2 ripe bananas, 1 cup unsweetened almond milk and 1 cup of ice- throw it all in the blender and blend until smooth. SO GOOD!


Three Ingredient Strawberry Popsicles:

I love making popsicles in the summer- easy, fun, and delicious! Not to mention, you can control the ingredients… making them a healthy alternative to store bought frozen treats.


  • 4 cups fresh strawberries hulled
  • 1 lime zested, peeled and sliced
  • 1/4 cup raw honey


  1. Blend all three ingredients together. Give your blender any extra help needed as it starts blending, stopping as needed. The liquid of the strawberries will help it blend up nice and smooth.
  2. Pour this mixture into your popsicle molds and freeze for 2 to 3 hours.
  3. To remove from the molds, fill a glass with warm water and place the mold into the warm water to help loosen the popsicle from the mold. Enjoy!

…you can always skip the lime or use an alternative fruit like blueberries or lemon slices.


Entertaining and need a fresh cocktail recipe?

Try this Spicy Strawberry Lime Margarita:


8 oz of your Tequila of choice (mine is Patrón Silver)
12 fresh strawberries
4 oz Fresh lime juice
2 oz Simple Syrup
2 cups Ice
1/2 a fresh jalapeño


  1. Combine ingredients in a blender pitcher and blend thoroughly.
  2. Taste and adjust sweetness or tartness to your liking, as berries and citrus may vary with the season.
  3. Pour into frozen mason jars.
  4. Garnish with half of a strawberry and a jalapeño coin.


  • If you like yours “on the rocks” blend ingredients without ice and then pour cocktail over ice when you reach desired taste.
  • Omit the jalapeño and use sprigs of mint or basil to make a fresh, herbal spring margarita.

It is sooo good!


Strawberry Avocado Spinach Salad

Now, this salad is EVERYTHING! It has all my favorite summer flavors, is super healthy, and ridiculously easy to make.

  1. 3 cups of spinach
  2. 1/2 cup of strawberries, sliced
  3. 1/2 avocado, chopped
  4. 2 tablespoons of pecans
  5. 2 tablespoons of goat or feta cheese
  6. favorite balsamic vinaigrette or fresh lemon juice


Layer in all your ingredients, drizzle your favorite dressing over the top, mix everything together and ENJOY!
